25 Lessons – Lesson 23: The Ten-Minute Test

If you’re struggling with big tasks, break them down into simple, manageable chunks.

When I teach people how to use LinkedIn effectively, and they face going from zero to full speed, I suggest taking ‘The Ten Minute Test’. This involves ten minutes a day where you go to your newsfeed on the platform and ‘like’, comment, or share a post from someone in your network.

Those small bites of time mount up, and by consistently engaging with people on LinkedIn, it’s easy to quickly become far more active and develop a much more engaged and visible presence than the majority of users.

This can work with so many tasks. Little and often makes big tasks far less intimidating and helps you to build the habit needed to start doing things regularly and effectively without having to think about it, or set aside scarce and valuable time.
